The trip we have been waiting for: Northern Lights 2024 in the first 2 weeks of December 2024.

I’ve finally accumulated enough Krisflyer miles for one-way business class and one-way economy Singapore Airlines air tickets for four. The redemption of ticket opens 355 days before the travel date and since we are eyeing the Savers redemption rate. We had to pin down the travel dates almost a year in advance. Then the planning work began.
In between, there are so many possible routes that we could have taken that it took us months to pin down the places for our trip.
We chose London as our first destination as I was keen to take business class trip on an A380 aircraft. Our return was from Copenhagen as it is the only city in the Nordic region with flights by Singapore Airlines.
In this post, I’ll share a summary of our itinerary. The details of the trip will be posted separately. In these posts, I’ll share more on the thoughts behind our planning. Hope the information comes in useful.

The Trip Cost
This trip total cost came up to $15,360.00. That’s less than $4,000 per pax, including our souvenirs and my hoard of chocolates/cookies. To keep our cost low, besides redeeming our air tickets, we cooked our meals and did our laundry whenever we could. As such, we tried to choose to stay in self-catering accommodation as much as possible.
