Four Footsteps

Prudential Hotel & Novotel Citygate, Hong Kong

We stayed in 2 hotels, namely Prudential Hotel and Novotel Citygate, over our 3 nights in Hong Kong.

In working out our itinerary, we made the conscious decision to stay 2 nights in Kowloon and 1 night near Hong Kong International Airport. With 2 kids in tow and overnight flights, this helped us to minimise the traveling time to places of interest we’re visiting.

First 2 nights: Prudential Hotel

Book your stay at Prudential Hotel from Agoda here.

Located just above Exit E of Jordan MTR Station, Prudential Hotel is a perfect base for us to explore Kowloon and Hong Kong Island area based on our budget and required comfort level.

Here’s a glimpse at the Deluxe Room we stayed in for 2 nights. The interior does not have the wow factor but it’s clean and reasonably spacious by HK standards.

There are many eateries, dessert shops and convenience stores just across the road so it was super easy to nurse our growling tummies at any time. Among the popular ones are Australian Dairy Company and Yee Shun Milk Company – Jordon. Here’s us getting late night supper from across the road:

We enjoyed taking their glass elevators which offered us a view of the busy Nathan Road from high up.

Visited The Peak, Star Ferry Terminal, Temple Street Night Market, Gold Fish Street and Sai Kung while staying here.

Subsequent night: Novotel Citygate

Book your stay at Novotel Citygate from Agoda here.

Novotel Citygate is a 5-mins drive from Hong Kong International Airport. Located near Tung Chung MTR, it’s a good base to explore Ngong Ping, Lantau Island and HK Disneyland.

We enjoyed a night’s stay in Novotel Citygate’s Executive Premier Rooms.

Dad, Mum and DL stayed in the 28sq.m Premier Queen Room.

We were quite taken with the room layout, which has an open concept feel to it. The wash basin is outside the toilet and shower, which are individual compartments. For coffee lovers, the Nespresso coffee machine is one of the room’s features, which we made full use of. Drank coffee while munching on breakfast bought at the bakeries in the connecting Citygate Outlets shopping mall.

CL stayed with Grandma and Aunt in the Premier Room with 2 single beds.

Notice the bathtub in the bottom corner? This room suited bubble bath lovers like DL and CL to a T.

Shopping and dinning is also convenient at the connecting Citygate Outlets shopping mall.

Novotel Citygate offers free shuttle bus service to the airport, another plus point to consider if you’re exploring the vicinity. We left our luggage with the hotel concierge and came back to pick them up after our day at Disneyland. The closeness of the hotel to the airport provided us with the convenience we needed since we took the midnight flight home.

Visited Ngong Ping, Tai-O and Hong Kong Disneyland while staying here.

Overall, we are satisfied with our choice of accommodation this time round. *thumbs up*
