Back to Dubai for another day of stopover from Zambia en-route back home, I chose to stay in 4-star City Seasons Towers Hotel in another part of the city. Rove Downtown Dubai which I stayed over earlier is in Downtown Dubai, near Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. City Seasons Towers Hotel, on the other hand, is in Bur Dubai, the historic district of Dubai.
P.S. I took only a handful of photos here, so a few of the photos you see in this post are from the hotel’s Facebook page.
Besides wishing to stay in another part of town, what sealed the deal for me is its proximity to a metro station. City Seasons Towers Hotel is about 290 metres from Burjuman Metro Station. I had wanted to keep the walk from the metro station to the hotel as short as possible to stay out of the heat. Being only 6.4km away from Dubai International Airport, traveling to and from the airport is certainly not a problem.
Another plus point is that it is just beside the Burjuman Mall, with easy accessibility to food and shopping, including Carrefour hypermarket.
Again I arrived at the hotel early in the morning, at around 7am. Unlike my earlier stay in Rove Downtown Dubai, I was not allowed to check in upon arrival (which is understandable given that I was way too early). Nevertheless, their policy is still pretty generous. I could check in at 9am if I wished to. Their hotel staff recommended that I go for breakfast then come back for check in. But no, I decided to start the day early to beat the heat outside. I knew from my earlier visit I would want to keep my time out in the mid-day heat as short as possible.
I checked in after I was done with my sight-seeing for the day. This was my Premium Double Room with City View for the night. I didn’t get much of a view from that sliver of a window though.
Overall, the room was clean and comfy but the furniture looked a bit aged to me.
Service-wise, the hotel staff were professional but not especially welcoming. But they called once I was up in the room after first checking-in to enquire if everything was in order and whether I needed any particular help. This effort to ensure the comfort of a standard room guest is commendable.. They also readily obliged with my request to dispose off my damaged luggage bag.
The hotel’s facilities include The Health Club (gymnasium), Horus Spa and The Pool.
Dining options include New Season – International Buffet (pictured below), Pasta & Pesto and Rondo Lobby Lounge Café.
The stay was comfortable for a night’s stay, though not really memorable. Its location is perhaps its best selling point so worth considering if you are particular about accessibility.
